1.Introduction to Pneumatic Rubber Fenders

1.Outer Rubber

The outer rubber layer, which covers the fender's exterior, protects the cord layers and inner rubber from abrasion and other external forces. This rubber compound boasts sufficient tensile and tear strength to withstand various weather conditions and heavy-duty use. The standard color is black, with other colors available upon request.

2.Inner Rubber

The inner rubber, a rubber membrane liner, ensures the pressurized air inside the fenders is properly sealed.

3.Synthetic Tire Cord Layers for Reinforcement

The reinforcement layers, crafted from synthetic tire cords commonly used in tires, are arranged at optimal angles. They effectively withstand internal pressure, distribute stress evenly, and provide strong, efficient reinforcement.

4.Beading Ring

A steel ring is positioned at one or both ends of the fender to secure the ends of the cord layers firmly.

5.Flange

A steel flange is installed on the fender, capable of being fitted with an air valve or a safety valve.

6.Safety Valve

Fenders with a diameter of 2500mm or larger must be equipped with a safety valve, which functions to release excess internal pressure when the fenders are accidentally over-compressed. For fenders with a diameter smaller than 2500mm, a safety valve can be installed as required.

7.Metal Accessories

All relevant metal accessories of pneumatic fenders, including shackles, towing rings, swivels, and chain nets, are made of stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to seawater corrosion.

There are two typical installation types: ship - to - ship operation and ship - to - dock operation.

a. Ship - to - ship operation
Generally, two contact points are sufficient for light - duty ship - to - ship operations. However, for heavy - duty ship - to - ship operations, 1 or 2 additional pneumatic rubber fenders should be used as the primary fenders. They can absorb the berthing energy and maintain a proper stand - off distance between the two ships. At the same time, two or more small - size fenders can be hung on the ship hull as secondary fenders.

b. Ship - to - dock operation
Pneumatic fenders are often used in ship - to - quay operations due to their excellent performance. The pneumatic fenders are anchored to the quay with guy chains and shackles. Meanwhile, the pneumatic fenders can float on the water surface according to the change of tides.

6. Pneumatic Rubber Fender Transportation

In terms of transportation, we can adopt deflated pallet transportation or full fender transportation without deflation according to customer requirements. We always put customer needs first.

7. Pneumatic Rubber Fender storage

1.When pneumatic rubber fenders are not used for a long time, they should be cleaned and dried, filled with appropriate compressed air, and stored in a dry, cool, and ventilated place. The storage temperature should be maintained at - 15℃ - 40℃.

2.The storage place of the fenders should be far away from heat sources.

3.The fenders must not come into contact with acids, alkalis, greases, and organic solvents.

4.When not in use, the fenders must not be stacked, and should not be placed on the ba. To better extend the service life of pneumatic rubber fenders, it is recommended to store them in strict accordance with the above recommendations.
